A week before a primary in which he will probably cruise to victory, Republican Pat Toomey is dipping into that massive war chest of his to go on TV statewide and introduce himself to voters. It seems very early, but Toomey is probably thinking that he should get in on the conversation while everyone's paying attention to the Specter-Sestak duel. It's a positive biographical spot in contrast to the Dems' leaning toward mudslinging, that emphasizes his fiscal conservatism and features his wife and two of his kids (no sign of the newest Toomey, though).

The Pennsylvania Democratic party, meanwhile, wasted no time with a response from spokesman Patrick McKenna, who emails: "Pat Toomey is a product of Wall Street, fought for the deregulation of Wall Street while in Congress, and continues to fight for Wall Street in opposing commonsense financial reforms. If he wants to base his campaign on his experience running dive bars in the Lehigh Valley then so be it. However, Pennsylvanians deserve the full picture of a man running to represent us in the United States Senate."
