Here's my story from the P-G breaking news site:

Gov.-elect Tom Corbett's pick to as his chief-of-staff has reconsidered the job offer, and will stay in campaign work instead.

Mr. Corbett announced Dec. 7 that Brian Nutt, the campaign manager for his successful gubernatorial campaign, would serve as his office chief. Today Pittsburgh-based political consultants BrabenderCox announced Mr. Nutt would join their firm instead, and helm a new Harrisburg office.

Pennsylvania will be a hive of political activity the next two years -- with the redistricting of congressional and legislative seats, the 2012 elections and other matters -- and Mr. Nutt did not want to give up his political role.

"After additional consideration, and consultation with the Governor-elect, I have decided not to enter the Corbett administration, but instead pursue my passion for politics, campaigns, and helping to elect candidates," Mr. Nutt said in a statement. "I also felt the offer to join one of the nation's premiere political and public affairs consulting firms was an opportunity I didn't want to pass up."

BrabenderCox handled the media for the Corbett campaign, and the Republican's two campaigns for Attorney General, and Mr. Nutt will continue to act as the governor's chief political strategist.

"I look forward to providing Tom Corbett with strategic counseling and advice in his efforts to restart Pennsylvania's economy, and return fiscal discipline to state government,'' Mr. Nutt stated.
