The adjacent sample ballot is what the Beaver County Democratic Party is emailing to its members instructing them how to vote on Tuesday. All of the Democratic candidates received the official endorsement of the Beaver Dems, but Senate hopeful Joe Sestak does not get the preferred finger pointy graphic next to his ballot placement. Why? Because his campaign didn't pay up in time.BeaverCoBallot

"The Committee has endorsed, and is supporting Joe Sestak," Beaver County Democratic Party Committee vice chair Judy Enslen wrote in an email. "As you can see by the sample ballot, the Beaver County Democratic Party Committee is urging a straight democratic vote, which includes Jos Sestak. The reason why Joe Sestak is not highlighted on the ballot is because Joe Sestak did not pay his pro-rated cost to the Beaver County Democratic Party Committee.

"Our by-laws state each candidate is to pay an assessment for election expenses. By Joe Sestak not paying his share, a burden is placed on the other candidates and on the Beaver County Democratic Party Committee. If we would have overlooked Joe Sestak not paying at the time the ballot was produced and mailed, we would be violating our by-laws and would be setting a precedent for future endorsed candidates not to pay.  Therefore, even though Joe Sestak had not paid his assessement, the Beaver County Democratic Party Committee has endorsed him and strongely recommends his candidacy to the voters."
